Electronic dance music, sometimes known as EDM, has been infiltrating pop music with the help of popular party-starters like David Guetta and Calvin Harris, who have partnered with some of the biggest names in pop. But dig a little deeper and you’ll see that EDM boasts even more hit-makers whom you might not have heard of – yet. The talented Dutch 24-year-old Afrojack has burst onto the scene, cementing his rise to fame with sets at more mainstream events like Coachella. Fellow Dutchman DJ Chuckie, whose runaway hit mash-up of LMFAO’s “Let the Bass Kick in Miami Bitch” made him a globally recognized name, says of EDM’s success, “People used to say that hip-hop wasn’t going to last, but it’s there to stay. It’s the same thing with dance music.”
